Banking and financial markets

Goal of this subject is to provide students with complex information on functioning of financial markets and banking. Course is designed to ensure understanding of key interrelations in finance and financial markets with regard to economics context. During the course, we will discuss practical examples related to banking, financial markets, monetary policy.  

What are you going to learn

1. Financial Environment - Understand where financial intermedisries operate.
2. Savings, Investments & Interest rates - Understand interrelations between savings, investments and IR.  
3. Time value and securities markets - Understand time value of money and securities markets.  
4. Short-term financing and International trade - Short-term financing and international finance and trade.  

How the course is organized

Full time study  

The course consists of 12 lectures and 12 workshops, each lasting 1,5 hours.

Part time study

The course is taught on the weekend in 4 blocks, each lasting 4 hours.
