Business English B2/C1

The aim of the course is develop students' language skills on the upper-intermediate level. Students will learn to express their own opinions regarding general and business topics, they will understand many articles in press. Further they will be able to present in English and write various types of business correspondence texts.

What are you going to learn

  1. Management styles - To talk about the personality of a manager and management styles; to learn to form words.
  2. Text reference, Linking ideas, Presentations - To improve presentation skills and writing.
  3. Team building, Prefixes - To talk about the team building; to form words by means of prefixes; to learn selected two-word fixed phrases.
  4. Modal perfect, Resolving conflict - To become acquainted with modal perfect; to learn useful phrases for resolving conflicts and linkers; to practice writing (summary and letter).
  5. Raising finance, Financial terms, Dependent prepositions - To talk about finance; to learn dependent prepositions.
  6. Negotiating, Managing international teams, Emphasising, Requesting payment - To be able to negotiate in English; to devote to the issues of managing international teams; to learn how to emphasise information; to improve writing skills.
  7. Customer service - To talk about customer care; to learn idioms.
  8. Gerunds, Active listening, Letter of complaint - To form and use gerund; to learn new phrases for active listening; to write a letter of complaint.
  9. Crisis management - To talk about crisis management.
  10. Conditionals, Asking and answering difficult questions, Report - To learn to form and use conditionals; to be able to ask and answer difficult questions diplomatically; to write a report; to learn selected linkers.

How the course is organized

Full time study  

The course consists of 12 lectures, each lasting 1,5 hours.

Part time study

The course is taught in 3 tutorials, each lasting 1,5 hours.
